How to use Map Tools and Buttons?
Map Interaction Tools: The current tool selection will be displayed with a red background.
Zoom In Map Tool
Zoom In Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. Then click on map to magnify the map at that location..
Zoom Out Map Tool
Zoom Out Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. Then click on the map to demagnify the map at that location.
Map Pan Tool
Pan Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. Then click on the map to draw a new map that uses the click point as the center of the new map.
LL Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. Then, click on the position on the map that you would like to be lower left corner of the your new map's initial map extent. If successful, the text box to the left of the LL tool will be populated with the x : y map coordinate pair for the lower left corner of the extent.
UR Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. Then, click on the position on the map that you would like to be upper right corner of the your new map's initial map extent. If successful, the text box to the right of the UR tool will be populated with the x : y map coordinate pair for the upper right corner of the extent.
Star Tool. Select this tool by click on its icon once. With the Star tool selected, click on the map at the location of the feature you wish to have labeled. If successful, the text box to the left of the Star tool will be populated with the x : y map coordinate pair for label location.

Zoom Buttons. These buttons are used to change the size of the area being displayed on the map. Clicking on the Zoom Out button (the left-most button) demagnifies the existing map view area by a factor of 1.5x. Clicking on the Zoom In Button (the right-most button) magnifies the map by a factor of 1.5x. The blue rectangles between the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons are zoom level buttons. These buttons allow the map to be zoomed in or out to predefined map scales. The right-most zoom level button zooms in to neighborhood level. The left-most zoom level button zooms in to a statewide scale. In addition, the zoom level button with the red outline and blue fill is a rough indicator of the current map's scale.

Pan Buttons. Clicking one of the pan buttons shifts the map display area in the direction of the arrow on the pan button. For example, clicking the left-most button pans the map to the west (left).
Find Address Button (Geocode). Click on this tool to open the Find Address Window. Follow the instructions to enter a street address and zip code. If the address is found, one or more candidates will be displayed. Clicking on a candidate will zoom the map's extent to the candidate address's location.
Zoom to Full Utah Extent
Full Extent Button. Click this button to display a map showing the entire state of Utah.
Open Mapit Legend
Legend Button. Click the Legend Button to open a new window containing the map legend which displays the symbols and colors that correspond to each map layer its subcategories.
Zoom To:
Zoom To Pick List. Selecting a county or region from the pick list zooms the map view to the area selected.

Generate URL Button. Clicking the Generate URL Button populates the MapIt URL and MapIt HTML <A> Tag in their respective text boxes.Select, copy, and then paste the desired text into the target document to create a map request link.

To Print a Map. Click the Print button from your browser's tool menu or slect Print from your browser's File Menu to send your print request to the printer of your choice.
